Just off the Sistine Chapel sits a small antechamber called the Stanza delle Lacrime — the Room of Tears — where a newly elected pope pauses alone to change into his white vestments before stepping out to the world. It is named for the tears shed there over the centuries: a place of reverence, reflection, and the quiet weight of what comes next.
This piece was captured over the Gulf on the same luminous evening as its companion print, Sistine Sunset. Deep golds, muted rose, and soft blues move together — a single exposure made with intentional camera movement, no composites, no layering. One frame, one gesture, and a palette the evening provided on its own. Where Sistine Sunset reads as the ceiling, Room of Tears reads as the chamber just beyond it.
For the collector drawn to reverence and quiet passages. A piece for a space meant for reflection.
